                                              Promotion S.O.P.


PVT to PV2: Promotion at the end of Quarter, must have a C or better in JROTC and must not have more than 5 unexcused absences and or must not have 5 or more Tardy’s in a Quarter in JROTC

 

PV2 to PFC: Promotion at the end of Semester, must have a C or better in JROTC and must not have more than 10 unexcused absences and or must not have 10 or more Tardy’s in JROTC in Semester

 

PFC to CPL: Must take and pass the CPL exam with an 80% or better, must not have more than 5 unexcused absences and or 5 or more Tardy’s in a Quarter and have a C or better in JROTC

 

CPL to SGT: Must take and pass the SGT’s exam with an 80% or better, must not have more than 10 unexcused absences and or 10 or more Tardy’s in a semester and have a C or better in JROTC

 

SGT to SSG: Must have a C or better in JROTC, be placed into a squad leader position, or volunteer for Company Supply Sergeant, must have leadership recommendation and be approved by the Senior Army Instructor and Army Instructors

 

SSG to SFC: Must have a C or better in JROTC, be placed in a Platoon Sergeant position by the Senior Army Instructor and Army Instructors

 

SFC to 1SG/MSG: Must be selected Senior Army Instructor and Army Instructors, all grades and attendance will be checked

1SG/MSG to CSM/SGM: Must be selected Senior Army Instructor and Army Instructors, all grades and attendance will be checked

 

2LT to 1LT: Must be selected Senior Army Instructor and Army Instructors, all grades and attendance will be checked

 

1LT to CPT: Must be selected Senior Army Instructor and Army Instructors, all grades and attendance will be checked

 

CPT to MAJ: Must be selected Senior Army Instructor and Army Instructors, all grades and attendance will be checked

 

MAJ to LTC: Must be selected Senior Army Instructor and Army Instructors, all grades and attendance will be checked

 

  • If a Cadet is RPC or suspended the Senior Army and Army instructors will review the case and make a determination if it will affect the Cadets promotion

The moment you enter AJROTC, you have the ability to be promoted and start receiving ribbons and other awards. AJROTC provides you with the guidance and tools needed to excel within the program. It’s your responsibility to dress out into the uniform, participate in physical training on Fridays, and know rules and regulations in order get promoted.
